I have been making ephemeral artworks in the bush for many years. These works happen spontaneously to respond to the time of day, the season, the weather… I regard them as my ‘drawing practice’ as they teach me about form, function, relationships and much more…
I published a book in 2014 called ephemeral which featured ephemeral artworks curated with some of my poetry.
These works are a response to a moment in time in the cycle of life in a wild place, they use only what I find where I am.
Sometimes find myself making works where nature-made elements interact with human-made sites and materials…
Over this two week residency I made many small and not-so-small ephemeral artworks from whatever materials presented themselves.
