hollow earth

Greer Taylor - hollow earth - Lorne Sculpture Biennale 2014
galleries :: | |

Lorne Sculpture Biennale was an biannual exhibition installed along the Lorne foreshore

statement:

The earth is the vessel for our existence — it absorbs all we throw at it, while providing us with everything.

This work provides a listening device that asks that we listen carefully to our earth at this delicate time.

hollow earth is a homage to the earth — to that which lies below, to that which we so often overlook… a ritualistic lamentation for all that has been lost, and all that will be continue to be lost if we do not step back and see the damage we inflict on the very being that gives us life.

I would like to thank:

  • Deborah Redwood for her dedicated assistance during install
  • Daren for painting the funnel so beautifully
  • Lorne community for looking after us so well

Lorne Sculpture Biennale 2014 dates were: 8 — 30 March 2014
