reciprocity

Greer Taylor - reciprocity - Sculpture in the Vineyards 2015

Sculpture in the Vineyards is an annual event taking place in the Wollombi are of NSW Hunter Valley, sculptures  are installed in multiples vineyards in the area. reciprocity was installed at Undercliff Winery.

Statement:

reciprocity is made up of a zig-zagging/push-pull structure creates an elastic web that suspends 49 pairs of sticks in a 7 x 7 grid above the ground, if any element breaks the structure begins to falls apart – a comment on the strong but fragile web that holds the life of our planet together. It is a comment about our living earth’s requirement and capacity for reciprocity: everything is connected to everything else.

reciprocity was first installed at Sculpture at Scenic World view HERE

I would like to experss my gratitude to:

  • Deborah Redwood and Mick for their assistance in installing
  • SINV for making this possible
  • Underwood Winery for hosting my work

Sculpture in the Vineyards 2015 exhibition dates were: 31 October – 29 November 2015
