it runs downhill
into our lives
like gravity
— it is inevitable
like gravity

—spinning planets
—into existence
death
spins life
into existence
——like clear water
——it runs downhill
——into our lives

—— is how
—— the earth makes life
—— no action we take
—— can prevent
death
—yet …
— —our actions
— —can diminish
— —the possibility
— —of life
— —expressing her fullness
